It's nice to have a website again...

This has been coming together slowly, more by accretion than by design - every few days I bolt another wart onto the site. Like today, I'm dredging up some of my old writing...

I'd like to think that there's something here to interest somebody.

So, HI.

I'm just trying to throw some stuff up here quick-like so there's something to see - perhaps I'll come back and tweak this later.

Just a note to say that the only thing I'm keeping updated these days is my skate photos site: http://snake.kittycrack.net

    My creative output

Among other things, I'm a musician - you can have a look at my Music page for more about that. I've been pretty much out of the music scene for the last 7 years or so, but I've kept my hand in it in various ways. The last big thing I did was to participate in an album project with praise artist Jennifer Wagner. I've got MP3s of some rough mixes from the studio on the music page linked to above... If you like what you hear, Mail Jennifer and let her know!.

I have done a lot of writing - fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, including various and sundry published work. You can catch a small sample on my writing page .

And of course I write code for the great Borg, the antitrust behemoth Microsoft (really, it's a nice place to work, and at my level, all we do is write code and try to do the best work we can. The political crap is really a shame, 'cause the stuff we've got just around the corner will blow your mind!). Anyway, I also do a certain amount of recreational programming.

    Recreation

I have been a skateboarder on and off since I was 12. I've been skating again lately - check out my skate pix/videos page.

    • Me and Frank Durham (me in dark, Frank in white) in the background of a shot of David Hackett, opening day of Marina Del Rey skatepark in Santa Monica (February 1979 issue of Skateboard World)
    • Me in the early 90s, riding an improvised dirtboard.

I also like to rollerblade. Some friends and I invented a new hockeylike sport called Kurva .

I take up cycling on and off every few years. I rode RAMROD in July '01, after wanting to do it for years. I used it s a seed event to raise money for the LifeLong AIDS Alliance. My pictures and ride report are on my RAMROD page . In order to do the ride, I lost 45 pounds through a combination of diet and exercise. Find out how I changed my diet and my life by becoming a Convegan ! . Lately, I'm into swimming, and I'm toying with the idea of doing a triathlon.

If you refresh the page, you'll get different pix of me. More l8r. Ciao!
