My uncle Snap and I were building a sauna for my Mother one summer. Snap had most of the knowhow, so I let him do most of the planning. He would spend a long time before each step looking at what we had done so far and figuring out what to do next. He said this prevented making mistakes. Snap had done and seen a lot in his life, and he loved to tell me all sorts of things I didn't know.
One day we were prying out a lot of old boards with a crowbar. I asked him "Why do they call a prybar a Crowbar?" He looked puzzled and scratched his head. Finally he gave me a comical look, shrugged his shoulders, and said "Because it looks like a crow?" He laughed and continued working. I thought about that for a while.
Pretty soon, Snap asked me to hand him the prybar. "You mean the one that looks like a crow?" I asked.
